Creating Results for the Culture
Symantha Wilson, better known as Sym Symma, is an award-nominated producer, creative director, and consultant with a knack for execution and developing culturally relevant content. In her role at Black Effect Podcast Network/iHeart Media, Symantha provides holistic support for culture-shifting podcasts from conceptualizing to recording and distribution. Her slate of podcasts includes Checking in with Michelle Williams, Carefully Reckless with Jess Hilarious, Hello Somebody with Senator Nina Turner, and several others. All combined, these podcasts boast over 5 million downloads and consistently spark organic conversations on and off-line. As the founding social media manager of Black Effect’s Instagram, she grew the platform to upward of 30,000 followers. As a renaissance woman of sorts, Symantha touches all aspects of radio from running the boards to editing audio to developing partnerships with top music labels.
In addition to her work in radio and podcasting, Symantha is a trusted advisor to some of the biggest names in hip-hop and pop-culture as a whole. One notable example is Symantha’s work with Charlamagne Tha God where she has lent her research, editing, and managing prowess to help execute dynamic pop-culture moments from Charlamagne’s trending interviews with Meek Mill, Travis Scott, Gucci Mane, Pete Davidson, Jeezy, Rapsody, and many others culminating in over 16 million views. Pulling on that same expertise, she is a sought-after script writer who has supported national radio campaigns including Black Music Month, where Symantha handcrafted scripts for rising stars such as H.E.R. honoring legends like Lauryn Hill.
Symantha is a proud Guyanese woman who graduated summa cum laude with an Associates in Mass Communications and Media at Nassau Community College. She is just getting started!
